Policy and Media
At the BAPW we strongly believe that part of our role is to make sure that the supply chain for medicines works as well as possible. We think that a vital element of improving the supply chain - of removing impediments to the smooth and safe supply of medicines to patients - is increasing understanding of the way that it works.
With this in mind, the BAPW has recently embarked on a number of initiatives.
First, our new Executive Director has set about an extensive meeting programme to enable policy-makers, other industry players, wholesalers’ suppliers and customers and other key stakeholders to better understand the pharmaceutical wholesale industry.
Secondly, the BAPW has begun to put together briefing papers on the key issues affecting the industry. As they are compiled, you will be able to find them here.
Thirdly, some of our stakeholders have indicated that it would be useful to kept abreast of wholesaling issues on a more regular basis. As a result, we’ve decided to publish an E-Bulletin, featuring news and comment on the industry. More environmentally friendly than a traditional newsletter, we hope that it will also provide a useful resource for people who want to keep in touch. Back and current issues of the E-Bulletin will be available here.
Finally, we also value the opportunity and recognise the importance of speaking to a wider audience. On an ad hoc basis, and on important issues, the BAPW will provide comment to journalists. Press releases can be found here.
